I know you’ve all been waiting for this!
Monday, April 1st, David and I dropped the kids off at school, said our good byes, finished loading the car, and then headed back for Cleveland!
It was a quick day, I had some blood work done, and then had a visit with my transplant doctor. Good news, my blood counts are all back to baseline and I am clear for admission on Wednesday (only to be depleted again!)
Today was a busy day being that it was my last chance to get out before admission. After grabbing breakfast we headed back to the Cleveland Clinic for a complimentary Reflexology appointment. There was no way I was going to turn down a free hand and foot massage 😆!
My relaxation didn’t last too long. Immediately after I was scheduled to get my PICC line placed. A PICC is a central IV line that is placed in my upper arm. This way I can safely receive chemo as well as my stem cells since my first line was removed. The procedure did not take too long. It was actually pretty neat watching the PICC nurses insert the line with the ultrasound!
Now that that was all done, we took a drive downtown and visited the Greater Cleveland Aquarium! It was a pretty cute place. We got to see some sea turtles, stingrays, an octopus, and lots of sharks! We did not see any divers in the tanks, David was very tempted to get in!
After the aquarium, we stopped at the mall for a little. My happy place! Had some dinner, and then headed back to our apartment.
Since admission is at 7:45 AM, I better get some good sleep while I can!
