Six Month Follow Up

Happy half birthday to me! It’s hard to believe that it’s been six months since my stem cell transplant! Sorry, I had no updates sooner. I feel that I have been pretty much the same these last few months, which I guess is a good thing. Some days I feel like time is flying and others I have to take one moment at a time.

Earlier this week, David and I made the trip back to Cleveland. Overall, the transplant team as well as the MS team feel that things have stabilized. Let’s just hope my MRI at the end of the month says the same. I still struggle to ambulate, however, I am still able to do so with a Rollator just like I did pre-HSCT. I continue to use the transport chair and electric scooter when out and about. I spend a good bit of my day going to PT/OT and various appointments.

Since today marks my six month birthday, I spent the morning at my PCP’s office getting my first dose of childhood immunizations. 5 of them! Don’t worry, I treated myself to a well deserved pumpkin spice latte afterwards! Over the next few months, I should complete all my vaccines.

According to Dr. Cohen at the Cleveland clinic, he thinks things should just improve from here. It’s normal for the transplant to cause my nerves to go haywire which may explain all the spasticity that I am experiencing. On the bright side, my hair started growing back like wildfire! I’ll have my pony back before I know it 🙂
